Megan Tremethick

Megan Tremethick has become the star of the British Horror Studio, a performer whose romantic intensity, vintage glamour, and theatrical command have made her one of the company’s defining screen presences. Often called “the Vivien Leigh of indie horror” and described as an actress born a century too late, she embodies the studio’s belief in expressive, classical performance at a time when much of modern cinema has turned towards irony and detachment.

An actor, writer, and director, Tremethick is best known for her work in front of the camera, where she brings a rare mixture of elegance, vulnerability, and danger to the screen. Her performances have helped shape the Gothic identity of the British Horror Studio, from the dark fantasy world of The Reign of Queen Ginnarra to the psychological horror of Spoiling You, Black Chariot, Mr Whispers, and Chronicles of Depression.

Tremethick won the British Horror Studio Popular Award for Best Actress of the Year, voted for by the studio community with thousands of votes cast, and her feature directorial debut Spoiling You went on to win Best Directorial Debut at Romford Horror Festival. Tremethick has starred in the Amicus Productions film In the Grip of Terror opposite Golden Globe nominee Jane Merrow, appeared alongside Ian McCulloch in Chronicles of Depression, and starred previously with Hannah New in The Vance Institute. Beyond performance, she has studied voice at RADA and continues to develop as a filmmaker, writer, and creative collaborator within the studio.

Her talents and screen presence have drawn admiration on social media from notable genre figures, including James Wan, Xander Berkeley, and David Dastmalchian, while The Reign of Queen Ginnarra, in which she stars, received a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award nomination for Best Independent Film.
