Dorian Todd

Actor • Writer • Director
Dorian Todd is one of the British Horror Studio’s most compelling emerging talents, an actor, writer, and director whose work combines flamboyant charm, dark wit, and raw emotional intensity. With his fierce blue-eyed presence and daring appetite for psychologically demanding roles, Todd has often been compared within the studio to a young Malcolm McDowell: charismatic, dangerous, and capable of moving from wounded vulnerability to uncanny menace in a single scene.

As an actor, Todd brings both sympathy and threat to the screen. He has shown a gift for playing characters who can evoke great emotion and tenderness, while also stepping fearlessly into darker territory. His performances are marked by excellent comic and dramatic timing, a theatrical sense of personality, and a sharply mannered, old-school wit that gives his work a distinctive aristocratic edge without ever becoming stiff or remote.

Todd received a Best Actor nomination from Romford Horror Film Festival for his performance in Black Chariot, where his emotionally intense work helped mark him out as one of the studio’s most exciting new performers. He also received the British Horror Studio Indie Horror Artist of the Year award, selected by an expert jury in recognition of his courage, development, and dedication to challenging emotional scenes across the studio’s productions.

In Hex Studios’ The Reign of Queen Ginnarra, Todd plays Raemin, the son of Queen Ginnarra, portrayed by Megan Tremethick. His performance added tenderness, strangeness, and tragic weight to the film’s dark fantasy world, further establishing him as a versatile presence within the British Horror Studio repertory.

Todd is also closely associated with Mr Whispers, a B-Team horror feature in which he plays one of the film’s villains while also serving as co-director. The role demonstrated another side of his range: terrifying, theatrical, and unpredictable. He is currently directing his own B-Team feature, Meow, marking his directorial debut and further developing his voice as a filmmaker.

Whether appearing in In the Grip of Terror, Black Chariot, Chronicles of Depression, Mr Whispers, or The Reign of Queen Ginnarra, Dorian Todd represents the restless creative spirit of the British Horror Studio: an actor of emotional courage, wit, danger, and theatrical force, building himself into one of the company’s most distinctive young artists.
“An actor of emotional courage, wit, danger, and theatrical force.”
