Sam McMillan
Actor
Sam McMillan is one of the British Horror Studio’s most emotionally intense and physically committed emerging actors, a performer whose work combines vulnerability, sincerity, and sudden explosive force. A professional wrestler as well as an actor, McMillan brings a rare physical confidence to his screen work, but his greatest strength lies in emotional openness: the ability to make fear, grief, guilt, and loyalty feel painfully human.
His most remarkable work may be his role as Elias in The Reign of Queen Ginnarra, a monk and suspected child murderer who, in McMillan’s hands, becomes a figure of profound sympathy and tragic complexity. It is a difficult, morally shadowed role, yet his performance draws the audience towards the character’s suffering rather than away from it, revealing an actor capable of finding tenderness and humanity in the darkest material.
In Black Chariot, McMillan plays Sam Baxter, an alienated and emotionally volatile young man caught in a nightmare of secrecy, guilt, and supernatural dread. In Mr Whispers, The B-Team Studio’s first horror feature, he plays Tyler, a quieter, more introverted and empathetic presence whose role as camera operator places him close to the film’s found-footage language. Across both films, McMillan has shown a gift for grounding horror in genuine feeling, making his characters feel bruised, loyal, frightened, and deeply alive.
His wider work with the British Horror Studio includes appearances in In the Grip of Terror and Chronicles of Depression, as well as practical contributions behind the camera on B-Team productions including Meow. Whether playing the loyal friend, the haunted survivor, or the accused sinner, Sam McMillan represents one of the studio’s most promising new dramatic presences: heartfelt, courageous, physically capable, and unafraid of the darker places a role may require him to go.
