Michael Daviot
Actor • Writer • Director
Michael Daviot is one of the British Horror Studio’s most commanding character actors, a performer, writer, and director whose deep theatrical experience brings weight, authority, and classical grandeur to the screen. With a uniquely resonant bass voice and a presence that recalls the great Gothic performers of an earlier age, Daviot has become affectionately known within the studio as “the Christopher Lee of the British Horror Studio.”
An actor of more than forty years’ experience, Daviot’s career spans stage, screen, playwriting, solo performance, and direction. He has written and performed acclaimed theatre works including A Noble Clown, Nosferatu’s Shadow, Hyde & Seek, and 1917 - A Phantasmagoria, bringing to his film roles the discipline, timing, and vocal power of a seasoned theatrical artist.
Within the British Horror Studio repertory, Daviot has become a fan favourite and a figure of formidable gravitas. He plays the memorable High Priest in Hex Studios’ The Reign of Queen Ginnarra, lending the film’s world of dark faith, ritual, and ancient power a rich sense of ceremony and menace. He also appears in Chronicles of Depression, bringing veteran authority to the studio’s psychological horror set within the oppressive world of institutional psychiatry.
Daviot’s wider work with the studio includes Ghost Crew, In the Grip of Terror, The Slave and the General, and the forthcoming portmanteau feature For We Are Many 2, in which he appears opposite Megan Tremethick across two stories. Whether playing priest, patriarch, scholar, tyrant, or haunted soul, Michael Daviot represents the grand tradition of British horror performance: sonorous, theatrical, intelligent, and utterly magnetic.
